Michelle’s plea to take pride in the area
group that gives environmental awards of up to £5000 to help improve the area.
She said:”If you look at the entrance to the schools and nursery, it’s really not the nicest of things to look at.
“Hopefully, by approaching Pride of Place, and by working with Cathkin High, Rutherglen High and the nursery, we’ll be able to get something done.
“When you look at other new schools that have been build around the west of Scotland, you see some really nice brick entrances with nice signs on them, and that’s something that’s really lacking here.
“I know it costs money and there’s not a lot of that around just now, but hopefully if people come together from various areas, we can work together and get something done.”
Michelle hopes that residents living in the area will want to dig in to help improve their locale, and asked them to get in touch with her.
She added: “We’ve got a really nice area here, that just needs a bit of TLC, and it could look fantastic. If you buy a house here, you want the area to be as good as it can be, and if a few of us get together, we could work and make it even better.”
