They’re after your blood

-

Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents can donate blood in the Royal Burgh later this month.

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service has announced its next visits to the local area.

They will return to the Royal Burgh when a collection team visits Rutherglen Town Hall on Tuesday, November 18.

Donations will be taken from 2pm until 3.45pm, and again from 5.15pm until 7.30pm.

They will be at the Cambuslang Institute, Greenlees Road, on December 17, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm, and will also visit Croftfoot Parish Church, 318 Croftpark Avenue, on December 30, from 4pm to 7.30pm.

Male donors can give blood every 12 weeks. That’s approximately every three months or four times in a 12 month period. Female donors can give every 16 weeks or approximately every four months.

Most people can give blood. As long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stone 12 lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 if you have given blood before) you should be able to give blood.
