Prizes on parade

Rutherglen Reformer - - Bowling -

Kirkhill Bowling Club rounded off a successful year of bowling with their annual prizegiving night.

Around 50 people had a lovely evening at the event, where president Sam Maxwell welcomed the members.

The gathered crowd enjoyed themselves, with cheese, wine, crackers and pate freely available before and after the ceremony.

Sandra Keary, the ladies champion, and Hugh McNulty, the gents champion, made excellent speeches when receiving their prizes, encouraging others to emulate their success.

One of the themes of the night was the success of the newer bowlers with two new member ladies winning prizes while three gents who were first-time winners of single-handed competitions.

Thanks were expressed to all helpers who organised the night particularly Christine McLeod and Gordon McLennan who set out the trophies, and kept to the running order for Sam.
