Vital win for Glens
Glencairn .............. 3 Maybole................ 1 Glens moved up to fourth place in the league table with this hard-fought win over Maybole.
There were two changes to the starting line-up from last week’s defeat to Cumbernauld, with David Dunnachie replacing Mark Bishop in central defence, and new signing Jonathan Boal coming in at left back in place of winger Kris Irvine.
The visitors started brightly and Mark Armour shot narrowly wide before Hutchison had to race from his goal to thwart Parris.
There was a blow for Glens when Del Esplin had to be withdrawn due to illness, he was replaced by Kris Irvine.
Glens settled into the game but Hutchison had to parry Parris’s lobbed effort. At the other end, Kilmartin glanced just wide.
Maybole again started brightly in the second period, but it was the home side who took the lead on 54 minutes. Donaghy’s free-kick evaded everyone and nestled in the back of the net.
Glens were handed a golden chance to make it two when McNeil’s shot was blocked on the line by the arm of Mark Doolan. It was a clear penalty and red card for the defender, but McNeil saw his spot kick well saved by
