Abbeyfield residents enjoy a visit from Santa

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Residents of Abbeyfield Care Home in Rutherglen got some Christmas cheer thanks to a donation from a local supermarket.

Tesco in Burnside gave mince pies and mulled wine to the home which is located on Buchanan Drive.

Store Manager Mark Swan (Santa) and Community Champion Karen Jarvie (Santa’s Elf) gave each resident a gift.

They were joined byTesco’s Group Coach Bryan Edwards, Managers Charlotte Hughes, Cealie McKenna and Martin Bisland who severed up some mulled wine and mince pies to all.

Mark said :“Tesco’s community initiative works well throughout the year in our local area, however Christmas time gives us an extra special opportunity to use Tesco’s scale for good and involve more of our colleagues, who I must say enjoyed it as much as the residents of Abbeyfield”

A spokesperson for the care home said:“A big thanks to Tesco.”
