Springhall and Whitlawburn have been brought together, thanks to a five-year lottery grant.

Healthy ‘n’ Happy Community Development Trust recently celebrated the official launch of the Our Place programme, a five year contract awarded by Big Lottery Fund.

Lots of fun was had by over 100 local residents in the connecting tunnels of Springhall and Whitlwaburn, and they celebrated by donning fancy dress for the occasion.

All enjoyed treats, games, music and lots of other activities, including the opportunity to learn more about the Our Place programme.

A spokesman for Healthy ‘ n’ Happy said: “Our Place is a really exciting place based initiative which aims to empower local people and organisations to bring about a massive and lasting positive difference to their neighbourhoods.

“This extends and complements our existing work in Springhall and Whitlawburn, delivered in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council, focusing on how we can make our local communities a better place.”
