Mari bids farewell to group

Sad goodbye for consultant

- Kenny Smith

Slimming World consultant Mari Guthrie said a sad farewell to the Burnside group on Wednesday after three-and-a-half years as their consultant.

Group members showed how much they appreciated her help and support during this time, at the Braes Inn, at 161 East Kilbride Road, by presenting her with an overwhelming abundance of lovely cards, flowers and gifts.

And she was delighted with their generosity as she stepped down.

An emotional Mari said: “There was a fabulous turnout from everyone made for a fantastic taster evening where members enjoyed home made salmon pate, chicken curry and Coca Cola chicken pasta to name but a few, all from Slimming Worlds food optimising recipes.

“Good luck everyone and thank you for a fantastic three-and-a-half years as your consultant.”

However, Mari isn’t leaving Slimming World completely, as she will continue to run the group in Halfway.

Some members have decided to follow Mari to the Sun Inn groups, which she really appreciates and assured them that warm welcome awaits them.

For those members staying at the Braes she sends her thanks and best wishes and to let her know when they reach target.

In addition to the Tuesday evening group in the Sun Inn at 5.30pm and 7.30pm, Mari runs another on Wednesday mornings, at 9.30am.
