Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

Mob violence was spilling over from the streets into the school playgrounds of Rutherglen and Cambuslang , with a level of violence that had reached “intolerable”proportions.

Tenants using portable gas fires in certain multi-storey flats in Cambuslang were endangering their own lives and“countless” others.

The spare ground between Fernhill Road and Tormusk Road was one of three sites being considered for a new pub in Castlemilk.

A massive demonstration was being organised to protest at the arrival of the D.H.S.S’s so-called “super snoopers”in Rutherglen.

Four local primary schools were closed for three days as part of the latest action in a nationwide strike dispute.
