Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

It was revealed that Glasgow’s NHS public watchdog wanted any decision on closing Rutherglen Maternity hospital postponed.

The last hopes for Rutherglen communters of getting a service restored were dashed with the news that Queen Street station wouldn’t re-open.

Vandals were plaguing Rutherglen churches to such an extent that appeals were made to members to catch the culprits, before there was any more damage.

Elderly residents in a Burnside sheltered housing complex were angry over the state of a nearby lane that was overflowing with rubbish.

District council officials had received a host of letters against the M74 road extension.
