Challenge for young go-getters
Budding entrepreneurs throughout South Lanarkshire are being invited to take part in the annual Young Apprentice competition for senior school pupils.
Now in its fourth year, the initiative aims to give the young people taking part the knowledge, confidence and self- belief to consider starting their own business in the future.
When the 16 candidates are selected, they are put into teams and work on a variety of business challenges over a two week period. Groups are mixed up for each challenge, allowing all candidates the opportunity to work with one another.
Loosely based on the popular BBC television programme, marks are awarded for each task and whoever wins the most points wins the title of South Lanarkshire
Young Apprent i c e . The winner, runner up, “candidate’s choice” and the four pupils who win the final task all receive prizes at an Awards Dinner at the end of the fortnight.

Closing date for applications is Tuesday, June 2 with prospective candidates interviewed on Thursday, June 4.
