Thank you one and all

Rutherglen Reformer - - News - Kenny Smith

Community stalwarts from Rutherglen and Cambuslang have been honoured for their contributions to the area.

Community service awards were presented by South Lanarkshire Council at an event held at their headquarters in Hamilton.

More than 60 volunteers were honoured at the annual presentation.

Every year volunteers are nominated by their local councillor in recognitionof their outstanding contribution to their community and their dedication to the people and organisations who benefit.

Provost Eileen Logan said:“I am very lucky to get the chance to meet volunteers quite a lot of the time and it is always humbling to hear just how much invaluable work is being done in our communities. It is your achievements that make South Lanarkshire what it is today and you do it all without thought or care of recognition.

“My fellow councillors and I have the chance to recognise the people that we think have served their communities in the most wonderful and selfless ways.”

Well done Kathleen Connor gets her award from Councillor Brian McKenna. Also present is Provost Eileen Logan
