Join your neighbours for lunch in the park on Sunday
A group of Rutherglen parents have got together to help host a community lunch in Overtoun Park this weekend.
Eugenie Aroutcheff, Lynn Semple and Amy Mackie decided they wanted to do something for the community.
They have been in contact with the Eden Project, an educational charity, with regards to holding their Big Lunch event in Overtoun Park.
The aim of the Big Lunch is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours or the wider community on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
The group were successful, and the Big Lunch will come to Overtoun Park this Sunday ( June 7) from 1pm till 3pm.
Residents are invited to go along to share food and friendship with the community.
There is no alcohol allowed and anyone attending should bring their own food to share.
Eugenie said: “We’d like to thank our sponsors including Tesco in Burnside, Friends of Overtoun Park and Ace Place Nursery.”
