Gerry’s invited over for some T
Performer will play at T in the Park
A Castlemilk singersongwriter has netted a slot at T In The Park.
Gerry Cinnamon has been selected by judges to play the T Break stage at this year’s festival, which takes place from July 10 to July 12.
It continues a great year for the troubadour, who recently released his new single, Kampfire Vampire.
He’s also supported former Cast and La’s member John Power on several Scottish shows, sold out King Tut‘s and made his name playing to huge crowds of proindependence supporters in the build-up to last year’s referendum.
And now he’s gearing up for Scotland’s most popular festival, as one of the 16 unsigned acts that were picked for the T Break stage.
Now in its 20th year, T Break aims to spotlight emerging grassroots acts from across the country, and over a thousand acts entered the contest, which is judged by 15 experts from across the Scottish music scene.
Past bands to have graced the T Break stage include Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic and the View, all of who have gone onto huge success since then.
Dave McGeachan, senior promoter from T Break partners DF Concerts, was impressed by this year’s crop of winners.
He said: “Every year the other judges and I are blown away by the talent we hear at the T Break judging sessions. Some I am familiar with from the Scottish music scene such as Crash Club and Tijuana Bibles, this year. Some, like Spring Break, just come completely out the blue and that’s the magic of T Break.
“Supporting Scotland’s grassroots music scene for 20 years is a massive achievement for T Break and a hugely important commitment from Tennent’s. I’m very proud of T Break and all the great acts who have come through over the years, bring on the next 20 years.”
