Easy way to help fill council funding gap
I note in one of the other articles in last week’s Reformer page 42, that Eddie McAvoy is quoted as saying that “…. changes to the financial settlement made by the Scottish Government has reduced the cash available to us by £3.4 million. That’s a huge gap to fill”.
Might I respectfully suggest if SLC scrap the proposed Cathkin Relief Road, then they would save the 14 per cent or £3.024 million that they have to contribute to its cost. That would go a long way to filling the“huge gap.” Alan McLennan, By email.
