Cake shop show
The creators of children’s comedy shows The Pokey Hat and Little Ulla are back with a tale of mayhem set in a cake shop.
The production of‘The Edibles’will arrive at the East Kilbride Arts Theatre later this month. It follows three bakers who are busy making a specially-ordered cake.
However, the light-hearted production takes a turn when a hungry mouse sneaks in, and their plans go out of the window, along with their cakes.
The Edibles is created for youngsters aged between three and seven, and is also suitable for children with additional support needs. The event is supported by Creative Scotland. It was shortlisted for Best Production for Children and Young People at last year’s Critics’Awards for Theatre in Scotland.
Grinagog, the theatre company behind the production, specialise in shows for early years audiences, and work alongside their parents, carers and educators to make suitable shows.
Formed in 2009, Grinagog have so far produced eight shows for early years audiences and will arrive in South Lanarkshire on June 19, with shows taking place at 10.30am and 1.30pm at the East Kilbride Arts Theatre. Tickets cost £5.
