Golden chance for cou­ples to party

Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang cou­ples mark­ing their golden wed­ding an­niver­sary this year are be­ing en­cour­aged to con­tact the lo­cal author­ity.

The Provosts of North and South La­nark­shire coun­cils are host­ing a spe­cial golden wed­ding re­cep­tion in Mother­well on the af­ter­noons of Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 23, and Thurs­day, Septem­ber 24, for cou­ples cur­rently re­sid­ing in North and South La­nark­shire, who were mar­ried in 1965.

Those who would like to be con­sid­ered for an in­vi­ta­tion should ap­ply in writ­ing by Mon­day, July 27 to: June Mur­ray, Ex­ec­u­tive Direc­tor of Cor­po­rate Ser­vices, North La­nark­shire Coun­cil, Golden Wed­ding Re­cep­tion, Civic Cen­tre, Wind­mill­hill Street, Mother­well, ML1 1AB.

A pho­to­copy of the mar­riage cer­tifi­cate should also be en­closed.

It is re­gret­ted that in­vi­ta­tions are limited to golden wed­ding cou­ples only.

Other fam­ily mem­bers can­not be in­cluded un­less there is a re­quire­ment for their as­sis­tance.

This should be made clear when ap­ply­ing.
