Golden chance for couples to party
Rutherglen and Cambuslang couples marking their golden wedding anniversary this year are being encouraged to contact the local authority.
The Provosts of North and South Lanarkshire councils are hosting a special golden wedding reception in Motherwell on the afternoons of Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, for couples currently residing in North and South Lanarkshire, who were married in 1965.
Those who would like to be considered for an invitation should apply in writing by Monday, July 27 to: June Murray, Executive Director of Corporate Services, North Lanarkshire Council, Golden Wedding Reception, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, ML1 1AB.
A photocopy of the marriage certificate should also be enclosed.
It is regretted that invitations are limited to golden wedding couples only.
Other family members cannot be included unless there is a requirement for their assistance.
This should be made clear when applying.
