The Scotland Office

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Margaret has been given the role of the SNP’s spokesperson on the Scotland Office.

But when I ask if it’s the prized role for an SNP politicians, she laughs:“I’ll tell you that in a few months time, it’s too early to say.

“Certainly it’s exciting and we’re all really keen to get stuck into our different policy teams. Our policy team has been mentioned as the engine room of it all.

“I wasn’t surprised, I was very pleased, happy with the role I had been given.

“I am still learning myself, but anything that comes out of the Scotland Office I will be quite keen to keep and eye on what they are saying and what briefings they are putting out. I will be working with David Mundell as well so any question to the Secretary of State for Scotland, I will be getting involved in that.

“We’ve actually got policy teams, my remit is in a wider policy team of Scotland and the constitution.”

Finally, I ask what she’ll ask if she gets the chance to quiz Prime Minister David Cameron at PM’s questions.

She said:“I think there’s so many, I will be taking my time and deciding which one. It’s a ballot so you’ve got the make the best of it.”
