Taste of Sweden
A taste of Sweden will be coming to a Rutherglen church next weekend.
Fikabröd, a Swedish bakery based on Kelso Avenue, will come to the Rutherglen United Reformed Church on Saturday, June 13 from 1.30pm till 4pm. They will bring‘afternoon fika’to the church.
Afternoon Fika is a Swedish tradition offering seven different types of cakes to guests and is an old Swedish tradition. It is considered the‘lagom’ (perfect, ideal) number when having friends over for fika.
Residents can choose seven hand baked fikabröd with tea/coffee for £13 (advance bookings or fika at home orders) or £15 on the door.
