Park friends begin hunt

Rutherglen Reformer - - News - Will Henshaw

Friends of Overtoun Park are looking for a new secretary as one of their longest serving members is set to step down.

Therese Reid has been secretary of the group since its inception five years ago, but is having to stand down due to work commitments.

Chair of the group Elaine Devlin paid tribute to Therese and said: “She’s been a brilliant secretary, she always works hard and really cares about the park.

“She is now having to stand down as the work load from her job is proving difficult to balance with the responsibilities of being secretary. She will still be a member of the group though.”

Friends of Overtoun Park are a voluntary community group. They aim to improve the facilities in the park and to encourage more people to visit the park by hosting events and family fun days.

And now the group are seeking a replacement.
