Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe has been praised for its work in the local community.

The cafe has been running in the former Cambuslang Old Parish Church halls on Cairns Road over the past two years, staffed by a team of volunteers, who have been giving up their time each Wednesday to ensure it runs.

They were visited by Cambuslang West Labour councillor Richard Tullett, who was full of praise for the volunteers, as part of Volunteers Week.

He said: “I was absolutely delighted to be able to pop into the Kirkhill Cafe, coming as it did during Volunteers Week.

“There are many examples locally where volunteers give up their time to make our community better and the cafe is one important example. I hope everyone will use this resource, every Wednesday between 10am and noon in the Kirkhill halls.”
