Peacocks open their doors in centre
Rutherglen’s retail sector will welcome back a familiar name tomorrow (Thursday) when Peacocks opens it’s new store in the shopping centre.
And the Wales- based fashion retailer is offering a treat to the first customers through the door on Saturday morning as well.
A £30 golden ticket will be dished out to the first 20 customers to be spent in store on June 20.
A spokesperson said: “At our recent store openings, customers have queued outside the stores from 5am in order to get their hands on a Golden Ticket, so be sure to get down to the store early on Saturday, June 20.
“Peacocks stands for quality and value for the whole family. The business is dedicated to bringing customers exceptional value for money on the high street.
“The range gives customers the best of basics, starting at just £3, to the latest fashions for women, men and kids. The brand new stores are bright and fresh, with a buzzing atmosphere and gorgeous collections are merchandised to show off the brand new high summer range. “
Peacocks was founded 130 years ago by Albert Peacock in 1884.
Bought by the Edinburgh Woolen Mill group in 2012, the head office is located in Cardiff, South Wales. Peacocks currently has 460 stores across the UK, with 50 new stores opening this year.

On Saturday, June 20 the shopping centre will also hold their regular craft fair from 11am to 5pm.
A spokesperson said: “We have a great selection of handcrafted goods on offer on including a brand new range of handmade scarves and bags, jewellery and art for the home.”
