Tributes paid to Dr RichardWallace
Tributes have been paid to a Rutherglen GP, who died on Saturday.
Dr Richard Wallace, who was also a member of Rutherglen Rotary Club, passed away on Saturday, June 14, at the age of 76.
Originally from Edinburgh, he started his medical life with the army in the Far East, Malaya.
There, he met Eleanor, an Australian physiotherapist, and after his military service he returned home to Scotland and took up a job at Rutherglen Health Centre.
He was much respected throughout the Royal Burgh, and joined Rutherglen Rotary Club in June 1998. He was the club president in 2005/06, and an honorary member since June 2012.
Until his stroke in 2011, Richard was an active and enthusiastic member of the Club.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor, their four sons and their grandchildren.
