School’s tennis aces
St Cadoc’s Primary School did Cambuslang proud after coming second in a county wide tennis competition.
The annual primary schools’ tennis competition, organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture’s Active School’s team in Partnership with Tennis Scotland, is now in its sixth successful year. Eight teams of P3 and P4 boys and girls from eight South Lanarkshire Primary Schools took part in the competition which was held at the end of May.
St Cadoc’s were represented by represented by Caitlin Murphy, Nicola Ayedogbon, Kaiden Boyce and Shay McManus.
Following a series of teacher training, lessons and clubs in school as well as four area tennis events, pupils from St Cadoc’s, along with seven other teams, were the top schools to go on to the final on May 31 at the Alistair McCoist complex.
The children played players in their rank and scored on their number of wins.
Underbank Primary School came out top on the day, closely followed by St Cadoc’s.
