Police abuse charge denied
A man from Rutherglen was due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court this week after attempting to fight with police officers.
Thomas Edward Stevens (41), from Trossachs Road, is accused of committing the offences on April 12 this year.
He is charged with acting in a threatening and abusive manner during the course of a journey between Trossachs Road and East Kilbride Police Station and within the police station. He alledgedly shouted, swore, repeatedly kicked the tyre of a marked police vehicle and challenged police officers to a fight.
He is also accused of possessing a lockback knife on Trossachs Road.
Stevens pleaded not guilty and the case is set to go to trial on July 14.
Bail was continued.
