Busi­nesses through­out Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang are be­ing en­cour­aged to take part in a lo­cal busi­ness meet­ing com­ing up in Au­gust.

The Lo­cal Busi­ness Net­work Event will take place on Fri­day Au­gust 28 at The Burn­side Ho­tel at 9am un­til 11am and will be free to at­tend.

The events, spon­sored by Clyde Gate­way, usu­ally at­tract plenty of lo­cal com­pa­nies, but or­gan­is­ers are hop­ing that even more will sign up to take part.

A spokesper­son said: “Our last event in Jan­uary 2015 saw a to­tal of around 60 at­ten­dees in­clud­ing MP Tom Greatrex, MSP James Kelly, Barry Fer­gu­son and Bobby Gracey from Clyde Football Club, The Daily Record, PTS Clean, Rangers Football Club, Celtic Football Club, the Ruther­glen Re­former, and Clyde 1 to name a few.

“We also have a num­ber of lo­cal char­i­ties who at­tend, in­clud­ing Kil­bryde Hos­pice, Cash for Kids and CHAS.

“Ev­ery­one we have spo­ken to since an­nounc­ing the date for the next event has been say­ing they have been look­ing for­ward to it, as a lot of the busi­nesses say they got quite a bit of busi­ness from the last event.

“Again I would like to say a mas­sive thanks to Clyde Gate­way for spon­sor­ing the event, also our thanks to the Burn­side Ho­tel, the Ruther­glen Re­former for the cov­er­age they have been giv­ing us since we started and also a spe­cial men­tion to one of the new­est busi­nesses to join - iS­tack pho­tog­ra­phy, who are of­fer­ing their ser­vices at no cost to pro­mote the net­work.
