Barbara says farewell to Hallside
Hallside Primary has said farewell to a popular and long-standing member of staff.
Barbara Harrison had taught at the school for 28 years, and is now set to enjoy a well-earned retirement, having helped thousands of youngsters in her time at Hallside.
She first started teaching in 1974, before moving to Hallside in 1987, where she also took many of the after-school clubs.
Head Teacher Gillian Russell was full of praise for the longstanding member of staff:“Barbara has been a loyal servant of Hallside for many years and she definitely brings added value.
“I’m sure we won’t realise just how much Barbara contributes until next year when, for the first time in 28 years, she won’t be there.
“We send her our best wishes for her retirement.”
In her time at Hallside Barbara has also taken basketball , football, science and scripture union clubs as well as the drama club where she has been involved in 19 productions.
She has been a leader of learning in Science across the whole of South Lanarkshire helping Hallside gain the Primary Science Quality Mark.
