Shopping centre surgery is a big hit with residents
James Kelly MSP has hailed the success of his latest surgery at Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre.
The Labour member for Rutherglen was in the centre on June 26 chatting to shoppers and giving them the opportunity to raise any concerns they might have.
James said: “In addition to the regular surgeries I hold, I am always looking at new ways to meet and listen to people’s concerns, and offer help where I can.
“The special surgeries at the Rutherglen Exchange are getting more and more popular, this time round I picked up over 15 cases from constituents and will follow up on that. People stopped to raise issues ranging from the Cathkin Relief Road, school transport and the NHS. I would like to thank the manager Jane Cowan for helping set up this special surgery and look forward to coming back again in the near future.”
Jane Cowan, centre manager, commented: “This was very popular and hopefully gave people a good opportunity to raise an issue or two with their local MSP whilst doing the shopping.”
