Pupils gain their bronze awards
Six pupils from Rutherglen High School have achieved their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award following a trek in Glentress.
The team of sixth year pupils, made up of Owen Campbell, George Albert, Nicole Cassells, Leah Brennan, Thom Gilmour and Craig MacPherson all completed their award by taking part in a two day expedition based in Glentress near to Peebles. The team had to complete a 12km hike in the hills before pitching a camp and fending for themselves overnight . The second day, they had a shorter, low level walk to complete.
All six had also carried out a series of challenges over the year which saw them complete activities as diverse as swimming, gardening, music and child-care.
