On Tues­day last week it was the Ladies West of Scot­land Dis­trict Fi­nal at Croft­foot. Kingswood was rep­re­sented in the 2 Bowl Pairs, Pairs and Fours.

In the 2 Bowls Pairs Joan White­hill and Rachel Magee were up against stiff op­po­si­tion from Mount Florida and with the game all square go­ing into the last end the Kingswood team ditched the jack and won the game.

In the Pairs, Emma Lock­hart and Ali­son Robert­son played Pol­lok­shaws and re­mained in the lead for most of the game even­tu­ally run­ning out com­fort­able win­ners.

In the Fours Kingswood was again matched with Pol­lok­shaws and, although this game was close through­out, the team of Mar­garet McElveen, Edith McWatt, He­len McGre­gor and Chris Hol­land were seven up go­ing into the last end and won by six shots.

The in­ter dis­trict games are at dif­fer­ent venues in about two weeks time.

On Wed­nes­day last week the ladies com­peted in the GWBA with all dis­ci­plines rep­re­sented.

The sin­gles, triples and Fours won and the Pairs and 2 bowl pairs lost.

On Wed­nes­day evening the Gents played in the first round of the GBA Mil­len­nium Triples against Fox­ley at Belvidere and won on shots.

Fi­nally, last Satur­day the Ladies played their resched­uled Bal­loted Fours com­pe­ti­tion for the Nicky But­ler Tro­phy with a strong team win­ning the round robin for­mat. the Gents Ten­nents Triples. This takes place on Satur­day, Au­gust 1.
