Man de­nies as­sault on po­lice of­fi­cer

A Cam­bus­lang man ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court last week on sev­eral charges in­clud­ing as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer.

Stephen DiPaola (29), of Red­la­wood Road, ap­peared at court on Mon­day (July 13).

On Au­gust 26, 2014 at a prop­erty in New­ton Brae, Di Paola is ac­cused of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing and abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing and swear­ing.

Di Paola is also ac­cused of as­sault­ing a man by seiz­ing hold of him by the neck, push­ing him against a wall and head­but­ting him as well as punch­ing and kick­ing him to his in­jury.

He is also ac­cused of dam­ag­ing prop­erty be­long­ing to some­one else by throw­ing stones and punch­ing win­dows.

He also al­legedly smashed the rear pas­sen­ger win­dow of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle by punch­ing it.

It is also al­leged he broke in to a prop­erty and as­saulted a women by punch­ing her on the head.

Di Paola is ac­cused of re­sist­ing four po­lice of­fi­cers by strug­gling vi­o­lently.

He is also ac­cused of as­sault­ing an of­fi­cer by head­but­ting him.

Di Paola pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due to reap­pear at court on July 27. Bail was con­tin­ued.
