Summer of rock
Lanarkshire girls are among dozens of rock chicks who have enrolled in Rock’n’Roll Summer School for Girls Glasgow. The week-long music programme is aimed at girls aged 8-16 and runs all this week, from July 13-18, at The Glasgow School of Art. A Saturday afternoon showcase gig includes workshops in drumming, guitar, bass, keyboards, singing and song writing, dj-ing, self-defence, zine-making and much more. Local musicians including Honeyblood, Chvrches, The Pastels, Tuff Love, Golden Teacher and Emma Pollock are leading the workshops and have donated instruments to the school.
