Three mem­bers of Slim­ming World in Ruther­glen have been awarded diamond mem­ber of the year 2015 sta­tus.

The diamond mem­ber is awarded to mem­bers when they have main­tained their tar­get weight for a whole year - and they are pre­sented with a beau­ti­ful black pin badge and cer­tifi­cate.

Irene McCor­mack from 10am ses­sion on Tues­day morn­ings was the first to re­ceive hers.

She lost over four stone to get to her tar­get weight which she has main­tained for over three years. She at­tends the group ev­ery week, and is part of con­sul­tant Carol Downs’ so­cial team.

Jemma Gilchrist from the mid­day ses­sion has lost six-and-a-half stone, and kept it off for over four years. Jemma still at­tends the group with her team sup­porter, with­out whom she would have strug­gled to shift her weight.

And Pat Smith, who at­tends the 5.30pm group, has been at tar­get for over three years de­spite be­ing a type one di­a­betic.

She lost over a stone and con­tin­ues to help at the group.

The Ruther­glen group runs in Ruther­glen West and Ward­lawhill Parish Church on Tues­days at 10am, noon, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
