Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Community wardens are cracking down on dog fouling in Rutherglen and Cambuslang this week.

They will be patrolling the area with a two-pronged initiative, which features wardens carrying out education work by issuing flyers and distributing dog waste refuse bags, as well as issuing fixed penalty notices to people who don’t clean up after their pets.

Ann Gee, South Lanarkshire Council’s executive director of housing and technical resources, said: “In response to concerns from residents, the council’s community wardens are now carrying out routine patrols for dog fouling and littering in areas across South Lanarkshire.

“Included within this week’s patrols are areas within Cambuslang and Rutherglen.”
