Cambuslang Handicapped Fund recently remembered one of their members with their annual pool tournament.

Former attendee Edward McDonald, of Rutherglen, passed away in March 2008 at the age of 34 from a heart condition, and because he was so well-loved within the organisation, it was decided they would dedicate something in his memory.

It was agreed a shield would be bought and named the Edward McDonald Memorial Shield and awarded to the winner of a pool tournament.

The members held the competition recently for the shield, and the winner was Ian Robertson, with Scott Laidlaw the runner-up. The presentation was made by Edward’s father Carl.

The Cambuslang Handicapped Fund runs every Wednesday, where members enjoy various activities and the chance to socialise.
