Blood donors are sought

Blood donors are wanted in Ruther­glen, Cam­bus­lang and Croft­foot.

On Tues­day, Au­gust 11, the Scot­tish Na­tional Blood Trans­fu­sion Ser­vice will make a re­turn to the Cam­bus­lang In­sti­tute, Greenlees Road, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.

They will be back at Ruther­glen Town Hall on Novem­ber 3, from 2-3.45pm and from 5.15-7.30pm.

Then on De­cem­ber 3 they will visit the Croft­foot Parish Church hall, at 318 Croft­park Av­enue, from 4-7.30pm.

The ser­vice will make a fi­nal col­lec­tion of the year in Cam­bus­lang on De­cem­ber 23.

Donors can give blood ev­ery 12 weeks, about ev­ery three months or four times in a 12- month pe­riod.

Most peo­ple are able to give blood. As long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stones 12lbs (50kg) and are aged be­tween 17 and 66 (up to 70 years if you have given blood be­fore) you should be able to give blood.
