Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

A terrified Rutherglen woman told the Reformer how she had bravely fought off a masked man who she believed was going to rape her near Newton train station.

The toxic tip next to Rutherglen’s health centre and maternity hospital was not going to be moved, despite growing fears from the public, as community health officials and environmental experts claimed it wasn’t harmful.

A Castlemilk back court was infested with water rats that were scurrying through knee high grass and prevented children from playing there.

Fernhill locals were urged to expose the hooligans and vandals ruining the community there.

Cops warned of a rise in bicycle thefts.
