C’lang Rangers ..... 3 Thorniewood Utd .. 4 Cambuslang Rangers lost by a single goal in what was a decent run our for both sides.

This was the Lang’s second pre-season match and the new look side is beginning to take shape even though it is still early doors and a lot more tinkering here and there will happen before the league season gets under way in a few weeks.

The home side fell behind after 15 minutes, a mix up at the back seen the Wood attacker latch onto the loose ball and fire past Mullen in the Lang goal.

Cambuslang levelled with their first goal of the new season 10 minutes later. Scanlon fired home a free kick and with the aid of a deflection the ball nestled in the back of the net.

On the half hour mark Cambuslang fell behind and this time it was some poor play from the defence as they conceded possession far too easily. This allowed Hewitt in to blast home.

A few minutes later and the Lang had a great chance to score but Smith volleyed wide from close range.

Lang drew level again on 36 minutes. The ball was presented to him by some poor play from the defender and Faulds nipped in and fired past the exposed goalie.

The home side went in front a few minutes later when Newman scored from 12 yards, he sold the defender a dummy before curling into far corner.

The second half didn’t have the flow as the first as both sides made numerous changes.

The visitors got back on level terms with 10 minutes remaining when Thorniewood lobbed the sub keeper from the edge of the box.

They grabbed what turned out to be the winner on 85 minutes when slack play from the Lang allowed Wood to score from close range.
