Woman in court over an as­sault at town’s Sky Bar

A Cam­bus­lang woman ap­peared at court ac­cused of as­sault at Har­ley’s Sky Bar in Ruther­glen.

Sammy Lea Walker, of Li­lac Wynd, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Tues­day, Au­gust 4.

On Jan­uary 25 at the pub, lo­cated in Main Street, Walker is ac­cused of as­sault­ing a man by punch­ing him on the body.

The 27-year-old is also al­leged to have as­saulted a woman by seiz­ing her by the hair and at­tempt­ing to punch her on the head.

She is also ac­cused of as­sault­ing another man by re­peat­edly kick­ing and punch­ing him on the body. Walker is fur­ther al­leged to have acted in a threat­en­ing and abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing and swear­ing.

She is al­leged to have hin­dered three po­lice con­sta­bles in the ex­e­cu­tion of their duty by lock­ing her arms to avoid be­ing hand­cuffed and thereby re­sist­ing ar­rest.

At Cath­cart Po­lice Of­fice she is ac­cused of com­mit­ting a breach of the peace by con­duct­ing her­self in a dis­or­derly man­ner by shout­ing, swear­ing and stat­ing that she had been raped by po­lice and that she was in­jured.

Walker pleaded not guilty and was or­dained to re-ap­pear in court on Au­gust 26.
