Man (63) in court

A Croft­foot man ap­peared at court ac­cused of dodg­ing a taxi fare and racially abus­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer.

Iain Nee­son (63), of Croft­burn Drive, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Mon­day (Au­gust 3).

On Fe­bru­ary 21 at Aiken­head Road, Nee­son is ac­cused of hir­ing a taxi from the Brazen Head Pub on Cath­cart Road to Croft­burn Drive with­out pay­ing the fee of £12. Nee­son is also ac­cused of act­ing in a racially ag­gra­vated man­ner to­wards a po­lice con­sta­ble by us­ing lan­guage to­wards him that was racially abu­sive in na­ture.

He pleaded not guilty as is due to reap­pear on Novem­ber 11. Bail was con­tin­ued.
