Ac­tiv­i­ties ga­lore for young­sters

South La­nark­shire Coun­cil are of­fer­ing a host of ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren as part of their ACE mem­ber­ship scheme.

Mem­ber­ship is avail­able to chil­dren un­der the age of 16 for £22.45 a month, although some may be open to dis­counts.

Kids and young peo­ple can also pay as they go at many of the ac­tiv­i­ties.

At Ruther­glen Town Hall on Wed­nes­days there are guitar lessons for 12-17 year-olds and on Thurs­days, there is a mix of guitar, drum and cam­era classes. Satur­days see arts and crafts as well as drama.

A va­ri­ety of events are avail­able at all four lo­cal li­braries. This in­cludes Jolly Tots on Mon­days and Fri­days at Cam­bus­lang and Thurs­days in Ruther­glen.

Minecraft takes place Tues­days at Cam­bus­lang and Cathkin, Fri­day at Half­way and Thurs­day at Ruther­glen.

Shake Rat­tle and Read is at Cam­bus­lang on Thurs­day’s and Cathkin on Mon­day’s and Fri­day’s while Ruther­glen also hosts the Girls Day Out Club on a Tues­day.
