Service looks for blood donors
Blood donors are wanted in Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Croftfoot.
On Tuesday, August 11, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service will make a return to the Cambuslang Institute, Greenlees Road, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.
They will be back at Rutherglen Town Hall on November 3, from 2-3.45pm and from 5.15-7.30pm.
Then on December 3 they will visit the Croftfoot Parish Church hall, at 318 Croftpark Avenue, from 4-7.30pm.
The service will make a final collection of the year in Cambuslang on December 23.
Donors can give blood every 12 weeks, about every three months or four times in a 12- month period.
Most people are able to give blood. As long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stones 12lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 years if you have given blood before) you should be able to give blood.
