Happy as Harry for lo­cal band gig

Lo­cal band Harry and the Hen­der­sons are set for an out­doors gig this week­end.

The seven-piece, who play coun­try, blues and rock, will be play­ing at the Kelv­in­grove Bandstand on Sun­day (Au­gust 9).

The gig is part of the Sum­mer Nights se­ries of shows tak­ing place at the Bandstand through­out Au­gust.

Sun­day’s gig is head­lined by the Elec­tric Honey ses­sions, and fea­tures sev­eral acts who’ve re­leased mu­sic through the Elec­tric Honey la­bel, which is run through Glas­gow Kelvin Col­lege.

Head­lin­ers on the day are alt rock­ers Fa­ther­son and Ed­in­burgh quar­tet We Were Promised Jet­packs, who’ve had suc­cess tour­ing in Amer­ica.

Harry and the Hen­der­sons in­clude singer Harry Mul­venna, a for­mer Trin­ity High pupil, acous­tic gui­tarist and vo­cal­ist Stu­art Neil and gui­tarist/vo­cal­ist An­drew Neil, who are from Cathkin High and for­mer Stonelaw pupils Joss Kelly on pi­ano and Jack Richard­son on bass.

They’ve also just re­leased a new sin­gle, Be­hind the Curve, with the track re­leased through Holy Smokes Records.

It’s the band’s first re­lease in over a year, and is avail­able dig­i­tally.

Tick­ets for Sun­day’s gig are priced at £14.
