Happy as Harry for local band gig
Local band Harry and the Hendersons are set for an outdoors gig this weekend.
The seven-piece, who play country, blues and rock, will be playing at the Kelvingrove Bandstand on Sunday (August 9).
The gig is part of the Summer Nights series of shows taking place at the Bandstand throughout August.
Sunday’s gig is headlined by the Electric Honey sessions, and features several acts who’ve released music through the Electric Honey label, which is run through Glasgow Kelvin College.
Headliners on the day are alt rockers Fatherson and Edinburgh quartet We Were Promised Jetpacks, who’ve had success touring in America.
Harry and the Hendersons include singer Harry Mulvenna, a former Trinity High pupil, acoustic guitarist and vocalist Stuart Neil and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Neil, who are from Cathkin High and former Stonelaw pupils Joss Kelly on piano and Jack Richardson on bass.
They’ve also just released a new single, Behind the Curve, with the track released through Holy Smokes Records.
It’s the band’s first release in over a year, and is available digitally.
Tickets for Sunday’s gig are priced at £14.
