Youth accused of trying to spit on a cop
A Blairbeth teenager appeared at court yesterday accused of assaulting a female police officer.
Ryan Brady ( 16) , of Upperbourtree Drive, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
On January 25, at Princes Gate in Rutherglen, Brady is accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm, by shouting, swearing and uttering threats.
At Princes Gate and during the course of a journey to Cathcart Police Station, Brady is accused of hindering police constables whilst in the execution of their duty by violently lashing out with his body weight and legs.
Whilst in the rear of a marked police vehicle at Burnhill Street, Brady is also accused of assaulting a female police constable by attempting to spit on her.
Brady pleaded not guilty and the case will continue to trial on September 9.
Bail was continued.
