A sec­ond half goal con­signed the Spi­ders to de­feat at Ham­p­den, de­spite hav­ing much of the play.

The first se­ri­ous shot of the game came in 18 min­utes. A Paul Woods free kick brought out a splen­did save from Hart.

Queen’s best chance of the game came on 59 min­utes. Fol­low­ing a cor­ner the ball fell to Woods, who blasted it over the bar. QP went 1-0 down on 63 min­utes. Osado­lor got clear and his low cut­back was knocked past Muir by Flynn.

The Spi­ders came close to an equaliser in 72 min­utes. Wat­son was short with a pass­back to keeper Hart and the alert
