Post Office makeover

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Rutherglen MP Margaret Ferrier has welcomed plans put forward by the Post Office to modernise the Gilbertfield branch.

Longer opening hours and a total refurbishment of the existing facilities are just two of the changes proposed for this Autumn.

The changes are part of a programme of investment and transformation taking place across the Post Office network, helping to make the branches more modern and convenient for customers.

Ms Ferrier said: “These plans are a welcome announcement for the Halfway area. This investment is a sure sign that Post Office services in the area are secure for the foreseeable future.

“It is important that vital services like this remain accessible. These proposals will ensure that residents and businesses in the Halfway area retain a vital local service.

“I would encourage all of my constituents in the area to contribute to the proposals by submitting their comments to the Post Office Views service before 11 September.
