A host of ACE (Arts, Cul­ture and Ex­er­cise) ac­tiv­i­ties are avail­able to young­sters through­out Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang

Mem­ber­ship to the South La­nark­shire Coun­cil- run scheme is avail­able to chil­dren un­der the age of 16 for £22.45 a month, although some may be open to dis­counts. Kids and young peo­ple can also pay-as-they-go at many of the ac­tiv­i­ties.

There will be adult and child swimming classes at Stonelaw Com­mu­nity Sports Cen­tre ev­ery Mon­day, and ten­nis classes the same day.

Bad­minton classes will be ev­ery Tues­day at Stonelaw, and both football and dis­abil­ity football will be on Wed­nes­days.

Girls club will be on Thurs­days, and ath­let­ics on the same day, both at Stonelaw.

Satur­day brings both football and su­per soc­cer to Stonelaw.

South Lana r k s h i re Lifestyles in East­field will also host adult and child swimming ev­ery Tues­day, Satur­day and Sun­day.

There will be gym­nas­tics classes for 18 months to five years at Spring­hall Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on the same day.

Gym­nas­tics classes will also be held at Fern­hill Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Fri­days.

Tues­day, Wed­nes­day and Fri­day will also see the bounc­ing high classes held at Cathkin High.

The Lifestyles cen­tre will hold dance classes ev­ery Wed­nes­day, while West­burn com­mu­nity cen­tre will hold dodge­ball ses­sions on Fri­days. Two Ruther­glen women have been charged with as­sault.

Ash­leigh ( 23) and Linda McGarry ( 56) of Al­loway Crese­cent, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Tues­day (Au­gust 18).

On June 30, 2014, on Dal­marnock Road, the two woman are ac­cused of seiz­ing another woman by the hair, pulling her to the ground and re­peat­edly kick­ing her on the head and body to her in­jury.

They pleaded not guilty and were or­dained to reap­pear on Septem­ber 17 for trial.
