We’re cracking down on vehicle crime and thefts
Over the last week, local community policing officers have been deployed in Rutherglen and Cambuslang targeting vehicle crime and thefts.
Officers have been deployed at the right times and most importantly in the right places.
In East Kilbride, we also recovered a stolen vehicle due to tracker technology the owner had installed on their vehicle.
This is a great piece of kit, so if you are able it is a great way to prevent your car from going far if stolen and as an added bonus it may lower your insurance cost.
Through structured and intelligence led investigation, I am delighted to report that three males were arrested in relation to theft by housebreaking offences in the Cambuslang area.
From a policing perspective, we will continue to carry out our planned patrols using both our marked police vehicles and unmarked vehicles.
In addition, your local officers will be supported this week by centrally based specialist officers.
Together they will be tackling the areas that you have identified as giving you concern – violence, antisocial behaviour and theft.
If you see anyone acting suspiciously, or perhaps you notice a vehicle that’s parked in your street that isn’t usually there, phone us.
It may just be a stolen vehicle that we can recover and return back to its owner.
If you have any concerns please contact a member of your local policing team on 101.
