Woman to stand trial for as­sault

A Ruther­glen woman has pleaded not guilty to as­sault­ing a man by spit­ting on him.

Chantelle McNab (21), of Western Av­enue, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Mon­day (Au­gust 24).

She is ac­cused of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing and abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing, swear­ing and ut­ter­ing racial re­marks on March 18 on Glas­gow’s Jami­aca Street.

She is also ac­cused of as­sault­ing a man by spit­ting on him.

McNab pleaded not guilty and is due to reap­pear for trial on Septem­ber 18.
