Fu­ri­ous ten­ants in Whit­law­burn were set to launch a rent strike in protest over the se­vere damp­ness prob­lems in the area, say­ing they were“dis­gusted”at the last round of re­pairs.

Man­ning lev­els at Cam­bus­lang Fire Sta­tion were slashed - de­spite pre­vi­ous prom­ises there wouldn’t be any cut­backs for another year.

A Cam­bus­lang fam­ily of five told of their anger that they’d been wait­ing three years for re­pairs to fix damp­ness in one of their bed­rooms - and they couldn’t use the room while they waited.

Fire­men fought for over an hour to con­tain the blaze which com­pletely gut­ted a build­ing on King Street.

Glen­cairn paid the price for miss­ing chances in their first game of the sea­son, af­ter los­ing 2-1 to St An­thony’s.
