Course to teach first aid skills

A first aid course tak­ing place in Cathkin will of­fer par­ents and car­ers the chance to learn vi­tal skills.

The course is be­ing held by SPELL (Sup­port for Play and Early Learn­ing in La­nark­shire). They are a reg­is­tered char­ity who pro­vide free sup­port and ad­vice for ser­vice vol­un­tary pre-five groups that op­er­ate in South La­nark­shire.

The course will take place at the Cathkin Com­mu­nity Wing on Burn­side Road on Satur­day, Septem­ber 12, from 10am till 2pm.

Sub­jects cov­ered in­clude re­cov­ery po­si­tion, CPR for chil­dren, chok­ing, wounds and bleed­ing, frac­tures. sprains, strains and burns.

The course is free of charge and is suit­able for all par­ents, car­ers and other fam­ily mem­bers. A £10 re­fund­able book­ing de­posit is re­quired.
